Scottish government respond to the Health and Sport Committee Inquiry into the Supply and Demand for Medicines
The Scottish government has published its response to the Health and Sport Committee Inquiry’s recommendations on the supply and demand for medicines.
The report found the system of supply and demand for medicines in Scotland does not have a focus on patients and the system is burdened by market forces, bureaucracy and under-resourcing alongside a lack of strategic thinking.
The Scottish government’s response includes an acknowledgement that the report highlights numerous important issues related to the supply and demand of medicines. The government believes the report goes beyond the published remit of the inquiry and highlights areas in the report that are not within the control of the Scottish government.
The Chamber Debate will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 24 November.
