New UK ‘RAPID-C19’ coordination body launched to support access for COVID therapies

The UK has announced a new collaboration initiative to triage, coordinate, and fast-track potential COVID-19 therapies.

The RAPID-C19 (Research to Access Pathway to Investigational Drugs – COVID 19) initiative is a collaboration between NICE, NIHR, MHRA, and NHS England, and appears heavily influenced by the model of the Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC).

The objective of the RAPID-C19 (Research to Access Pathway to Investigational Drugs – COVID 19) programme is to provide an efficient and consistent pipeline, updated weekly, for triage and rapid assessment of new and repurposed therapeutics with potential to assist with the coronavirus outbreak.

MAP Online members can access our new RAPID-C19 page which provides additional information and process overview.
