EMA’s human medicines highlights of 2019 released

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has released its annual set of statistics showing the medicines it handled in 2019.

The document, Human medicines highlights 2019, is a concise report of the top level figures from bodies such as the Committee for Human Medicinal Products (CHMP). Deeper analysis and opinion is likely to follow in the EMA annual report later in the year.

Key figures show that in 2019 the EMA issued:

  • 66 positive opinions
  • 4 negative opinions
  • 3 allocations to PRIME
  • 8 conditional marketing authorisations
