NHS Digital has published its’ annual report containing details of how digital products and services for health and care have been improved. The report includes new services delivered, statistics and improvements that continue to be made to the core national IT and data services in order to support patient care and meet the increasing pressure on the system. Points of interest from the report include:
- 97% average service availability across all live services
- The launching of the NHS Apps Library and pilot scheme of NHS 111 Online, which provides digital access to NHS 111’s advice and triage services
- Independent on-site data security assessments performed in 200 NHS organisations and worked with NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care, the National Cyber Security Centre to strengthen cyber resilience across health and care
- The number of local authorities using Child Protection – Information Sharing (CP-IS) has increased from 31% to 68%.
- Improved the usability of core services like the Summary Care Record and the e-Referral Service.
- The National Data Opt-out Service delivered, which puts the public in direct control of their data sharing preferences.
