DHSC consults on NICE charging proposals

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has launched a consultation on proposals to introduce charges for technology appraisals conducted by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), including Highly Specialised Technology appraisals (HSTs). The proposal from NICE calls for charges to come into effect from April 2019.

The consultation also includes proposals to allow NICE Appeals Panels to recruit members from healthcare bodies across the UK, rather than just England.

Further information on the proposals. The consultation document found here also contains the seven specific questions that the DHSC is seeking input on.

Responses can be submitted via this form.
