New BEIS and Brexit ministerial appointments

Lord Henley, who has previously served as DWP, Home Office and DEFRA minister, has been appointed as the new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). His precise brief has not yet been confirmed, but BEIS have stated that they do not foresee any major changes to ministerial remits. He replaces Lord Prior of Brampton, who will be taking over as Chair of University College London Hospitals in December 2017.

In addition, Lord Callanan will replace Baroness Anelay of St Johns as a Minister of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union, having previously been a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport.
