NHS England and NHS Improvement Policy Proposals for Two Year National Tariff for April 2017 to March 2019. You can give your feedback via the online survey, open until midday 26 August 2016.
NHS England and NHS Improvement have published their proposed policy for the national tariff for 2017 – 2019. It is important for any company with a product that may be available from 2017-2019 to respond and nominate their product for inclusion on the high cost drugs tariff by using the NHS England portal, the link for this is below. If companies do not complete this form on the NHS England portal, then they might find difficulty in reimbursement at the point of launch because healthcare providers will be expected to fund the cost of any treatment within the existing NHS healthcare resource group (HRG) tariff codes.
See the publication and supporting documents outlining the proposed changes to the national tariff.
The proposals include:
- Introducing a two-year tariff under which we would publish two price lists, one for 2017/18 and one for 2018/19
- Introducing HRG4+ phase 3 as the payment currency for admitted patient care, A&E and outpatient procedures
- Introducing four new best practice tariffs and amending four existing best practice tariffs
- Making changes to specialised service top-up payments
There are a number of areas of tariff proposals where work is not complete or still ongoing and so NHS Improvement have compiled a list of these further areas for specific policy development.
