Carmen Montón has resigned following controversy surrounding allegations of irregularities in her master’s degree in ‘Interdisciplinary Gender Studies’ from the Rey Juan Carlos University. The announcement came just hours after President Pedro Sanchez publicly supported Montón and her role in the position, stating “Carmen Montón is doing an extraordinary job and will continue to do so”. The President has since elected María Luisa Carcedo as the new Minister of Health replacing Montón.
