The Ministry of Finance, through the Secretariat of State for Public Administration, has made possible the publication of pharmaceutical expenditure, as well as that of medical devices, in Spanish hospitals. This information is key to the analysis and forecasting of future health budgets. To increase the information available, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry ofHealth have signed an agreement to exchange information on pharmaceutical expenditure through which both ministries can significantly improve analysis.
Two working parties will also be created. One working party will conduct pharmaceutical expenditure analyses and the other will oversee the access of patients to innovation. Even though these working parties have not been created yet, Farmaindustria believes that the work of both parties will encourage sustainability and access to innovation within the Spanish healthcare system.
