Medicine Prices in Spain 16% Lower than the Eurozone Average

Prices of medicines in Spain are 16% below that of the average price of the Eurozone countries.

This difference has been driven since 2009 by the situation existing budgetary imbalance in our country. Since then, and especially since 2010, they have launched health policy measures “particularly intense in the pharmaceutical sector” that have made the pharmaceutical expenditure at the end of 2015 was 25.1% lower than in May 2010 which was the record high, “which highlights the magnitude of the adjustment suffered by the pharmaceutical industry” explains Farmaindustria.
