Japan’s MID-NET receives first application

Japan’s medical regulatory agency, the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), has reported that it has received the first application for use of its MID-NET database by a pharmaceutical manufacturer.

The purpose of the database is to collate information on pharmaceutical safety, particularly the side-effects of new medications, allowing any unknown adverse effects to be identified as early as possible.
