Turkish regulatory agency to join international scheme

The Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TMMDA/TITCK) has been accepted into the International Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S), responsible for international standardisation of pharmaceutical manufacturing practice. This allows the Turkish agency’s inspections to be recognised internationally. The TMMDA’s participation in the scheme, sought since 1989, will start from January 2018.

The Turkish Government’s aim is to bolster the pharmaceutical industry’s export prospects through improving international confidence in the medicines production.
