According to a new study, the NHS could save £44 million a year though a clinical messaging tool.
The app-based tool Forward, created by NHS doctors, helps NHS staff to exchange patient information, make clinical decisions, and manage workload.
A study by the Kent Surry Sussex Academic Health Science Network (AHSN), which conducted an investigation into the impact of Forward, found that one Trust could save £922,000 annually.
The investigation by the AHSN also found that a saving of £44 million could be made if Forward was adopted in all acute Trusts nationwide.
This investigation follows the announcement from Matt Hancock earlier this year to ban pagers in the NHS by 2021.
