England’s RMOCs First Wave of Meetings
Earlier this year, NHS England established four Regional Medicines Optimisation Committees (RMOCs) to improve coordination and collaboration between the different regions and bodies. RMOCs provide advice and recommendations on the optimal use of medicines for the benefit of patients and the NHS. They bring together decision makers and clinicians across the four regions of England, to share best practice, understand the evidence base, coordinate action and so reduce variation thus improving outcomes and value.
The first round of meetings ran from June to September where they discussed biosimilars, anti-microbial resistance and polypharmacy. Summaries of the committee meetings can be found on the SPS website here for each of the four committees for each of the three topics discussed.
