First Scientific-Family Meeting in Spain on Rare Diseases in Adults

Patients and health experts have demanded better coordination between primary and secondary carers, as a response to difficulties faced in transitioning from infancy to adulthood faced by patients with rare diseases in Spain

This was demonstrated at the First FEDER-FEMI Scientific and Family Meeting for adults affected by a minority disease that the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER) and the Group of Minority Diseases of the Spanish Foundation Internal Medicine (FEMI).

The driving force behind this meeting was the focus on the situation of adult patients with rare diseases, since these are pathologies that can appear at any time in life and, moreover, “scientific advances and the drive for innovation in diseases “Said Juan Carrión, President of FEDER and its Foundation.
