Department of Health will appoint a Director General for Innovation, Growth and Technology

Earl Howe has announced that the Department of Health will appoint a Director General for Innovation, Growth and Technology. The post will oversee the Medicines, Pharmacy, and Industry Division.

The appointment is intended to strengthen the Government’s focus on the innovation growth and technology agenda and strengthen the Department’s capacity in this area. The position is due to be filled later in the summer.

This news follows the recent announcement that the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department of Health have joined forces to create the new and expanded Office for Life Sciences with Nicole Mather appointed as its new Director.
